Botox or neurotoxin temporarily relaxes muscles in order to decrease the movement of targeted facial muscles. In turn, this will decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Treating patients with botox is very dependent on each person's anatomy, goals, preferences, and metabolism. Each person's dosing will vary depending on what is assessed during the consultation.
The longevity of neurotoxin or botox also depends on the person. Generally, effects for Xeomin will last for 3 months. This varies by individual.
The term "Botox" refers to a brand of neurotoxin. There are multiple brands that exist and all have unique attributes. We have chosen Xeomin because it gives long-lasting results, is well studied, high quality, and does not cause potential toxin resistance that the other brands can cause. This occurs in some when the body produces antibodies to the Botox overtime which can result in not having a response to the Botox eventually. Xeomin is formulated different to prevent this adverse effect.
At Saltwater Health & Hydration, our top core value is safety. For this reason, we screen each client during the consultation for contraindications. Overall, anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, or has known allergies to the ingredients should not get Botox. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we would be happy to serve you after your breastfeeding journey! There are certain medical conditions that may make neurotoxin unsafe for you, we can discuss this all and more at your consultation!
